This error was happening when opening V6, this is possibly due to opening V6 before the back ground SQL processes have auto started. If the SQL Server is running then check if the computer name still matches the info in the V6 connector, if the compute name has been changed edit the V6 connector and the AiQ shortcut on the desktop.

Could not establish a connection to the server/host:

SQL Server Network Interfaces: Error Locating Server/Instance Specified [xFFFFFFFF]

This can be checked in two places, SQL Server Configuration Manager or Services (through Control panel or Task Manager)

To fix this go to Start/Micrsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/ConfigurationTools/SQL Server Configuration Manager the click on the SQL Server Servicesbelow and make sure it is running.

Note: If the same error is on a client machine it is down to the Server/host name being wrong or their network is not connecting correctly, check the server V6 connector to get the correct server/host name first.
